I have never heard of this band. But you gave your two cents. And it's only a penny for my thoughts, so you're making a boatload.

Good judgement comes from experience.
Experience comes from bad judgement.

Yoikes, that's a scary responsibility. I'm just a guy who draws pictures these days. I'm probably more of a stumbling. While I have found my community I admit to being one of its weaker members. Hope I don't let you down.

OK, bed time for me. Night nite.

U2 and Mark Heard and of course, 77s. I had those references without needing to look.

I can't believe it but I have found what I was looking for in terms of authentic community and faith in the beloved community of the Catholic Church. Oh my, shocked and appalled, I can hear the crowds now. However, as our six year old nephew recently said to his peers who were taunting him that his new haircut made him look like a girl: ''That's just the way it is.'' :-)

Man, you go back almost as far as anyone I have an ether relationship with. I pray you find your peace and your community good Macker.

The images from a recent post at the Boston Globe's The Big Picture show Indonesian sulfur mine workers breaking their bodies if not also their souls for equivalent of five US dollars a day.

The real crisis in North America and particularity in the United States is a moral one which is being manifested in part in the economy.

Sobering stats. I'm as guilty as the next person when it comes to the gratuitous enjoyment of food porn (I'm more an Ina Garten/Barefoot Contessa girl) -- and while I'm intellectually and to an extent emotionally aware of the way the rest of the world lives, it never hurts to be reminded. Perspective adjusted. It's humbling and embarrassing to think about how we live juxtaposed against the world's reality.

Great post, Rev.

Washing of feet = humbling, intimate, sacrificial. Mary Magdalene did likewise when, labeled as a sinner, she wept on Christ's feet, wiped them with her hair and scented them with perfume. An out-of-the-comfort-zone experience. (as a chick, I tend to think of this example often...)

One more thought: as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. In this case, literally and figuratively, I think.
