a resurrection of sorts
I was an avid blogger once. just after the first adopters (like david siegel) made online journaling fashionable. then came halcyon. and jason kottke. and lance arthur and ernie hsiung. all brilliant in their own ways, all inspring me to find a voice of my own (if completely different from each of theirs).
my blog (of the same name) was one of the early “christian” blogsites. that is to say, right about the time some of the more progressive evangelicals were adopting the technology (and getting book deals). I’m sure I didn’t fit in with them, either, and I’m sure I take more credit for influencing a few of the earliest writers than I deserve. but my angst struck a few chords. I even rankled a few baptists along the way. good times.
and then a funny thing happened as my career and family started to grow: I lost my angst. I had a total hip replacement. and I got more involved with people the old-fashioned way. but being an infp, it’s hard to resist somewhat anonymous self-expression.
so I tried to dust off the previous/original site, only to find it really isn’t me anymore. sure, what I wrote is still … mine. but when you walk away from the writing process, and life circumstances morph, so does your ethos.
so consider this another evolutionary step in my journey of self-discovery.
